Summer Sidewalk Sale (Saturday September 9th) – Join Downtown Metuchen businesses for an all-day sidewalk sale all throughout Downtown Metuchen! This is a great time for special sales and offers as your business prepares for the holiday season.
Townwide Team Party (Friday September 22nd) – We’re having a tea party! Join in on the fun as we host a Townwide Tea Party on Saturday September 23rd. Consider hosting and showcasing special ‘tea’ themed products and services. Examples are tea treatments for beauty businesses, Alice & Wonderland Themed specials, host a tea party in your business, offer special ‘tea party in a box’ specials, serve your products in a tea cup etc. Need ideas? Meet Murr (Thursday October 5th) – Comedian James “Murr” Murray from Impractical Jokers will be coming to Metuchen! Send us your specials and offers for this special weekday event with many new visitors expected in the area.
Downtown Rumble (Saturday October 8th) – Join in on the fun at the Downtown Rumble, our annual pro-wrestling event. Share your “Downtown Rumble” themed specials with us (e.g.: 10% with a mention of “Downtown Rumble”, special dinner packages, specialty themed beverages or products, special sessions for athletes etc.)
Haunted Downtown (Saturday October 28th) – One of the busiest days of the year for Halloween lovers of all ages! This is not a trick-or-treat event, but an event where businesses can have fun with the holiday and get festive with spooky decor, special offers and product features and more; be sure to let us know how you plan on participating!
Small Business Saturday (Saturday November 25th) – It’s the official kick-off to the holiday season! The Downtown Alliance will be out our wheel of fortune for customers who spend locally that day. Be sure to share any holiday merchandise, on-line and in-store offers or features for that day!
Winter Market (Saturday December 2nd) – Our Winter Market returns this year and we’re excited to continue to draw in new customers to Downtown Metuchen looking for holiday gifts and cheer. Consider setting up an outdoor pop-up (maximum of 1 pop-up per business) or specials for the day (e.g.: gift cards, special holiday meal packages etc.).
Love it or List It Gingerbread House (Saturday December 9th) – It’s our annual gingerbread house contest with our ‘love it or list it’ theme. Is your business a bakery or specialty business? Join the fun and submit an entry for your business to showcase your talents!
Downtown Caroling (Saturday December 16th) – Join the MDA and Rise Up Chorus (a non-denominational community choral group) for our annual Downtown Caroling from 11am to 1pm. Be sure to have lyrics ready for your customers and get in the festive spirit with decor and specials.
‘Twas the Weekend Before Christmas (Saturday December 23rd) – It’s the last weekend before Christmas! This is one of the busiest shopping weekends so be sure to be prepared for last minute shoppers and diners!
