Events & Promotions for first quarter 2022

Black History Month – The Metuchen Downtown Alliance alongside the Metuchen Human Relations Commission will be working together to celebrate Black History Month in Metuchen. We will have quotes and inspiration from key Black figures globally on postcards to be placed throughout local businesses. If you have a special feature or highlight you would like to showcase for Black History Month, please let us know.

Love Letters to Local (Valentine’s Day) – For Valentine’s Day this year we will be hosting “Love Letters to Local” from February 1st to the 28th. We will have red mailboxes on the plaza where downtown visitors can drop off letters of love and gratitude to their favorite business.

Find Your Love Downtown (Valentine’s Day) – The MDA will provide small, heart shaped cards to businesses that they can display in their stores. The hearts are intended as Valentine’s card from visitors to their loved ones and will be displayed in stores until February 28th. Please let us know if you’d like to participate and display cards in your business.

Lunar New Year (Saturday February 12th) – The Metuchen Downtown Alliance alongside the Metuchen Human Relations Commission will be working together to celebrate Lunar New Year in Downtown Metuchen. We will have Lion Dancers from the University of Pennsylvania perform and if you would like to have a small performance in your business, customarily done to bring good luck and prosperity, please let us know and we will provide a red envelope to make a donation to their dance troupe.

Winter Restaurant Week (February 21st to 27th) – We will be celebrating a winter restaurant week from February 21st to 27th. Please provide your menu or prix fixe special no later than February 12th to be included. Participating businesses will receive a loyalty postcard to have customers fill out during the week, completed cards will be eligible for a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant.
