Our mission is to find the voice that is within each and every client. We strive to find the best modality of communication for our clients who cannot otherwise express themselves through speech production. We specialize in Augmentative/ Alternative Communication; a domain in speech therapy dedicated to Augment limited speech production or finds an Alternative means of communicating when speech production is not possible. We work together with our clients’ families and service providers to identify their communication needs, and identifying an appropriate communication system for the client. We also assist in submitting required documents for funding purposes, training the client and families to use the communication devices/programs and provide therapy sessions to develop basic communication skills using the newly acquired system to facilitate carryover of these skills in the home and various environments. Finding the best modality also means as we Augment the limited verbal productions of a client we also facilitate the further improvement of the speech and language skills that they already posses. We use AAC to meet the client’s growing communication needs now while we work on improving the speech production that the client may use tomorrow.
